Co-Op seals `green power' deal

THE CO-OP will go green today under a pounds 25m deal whereby its electricity needs will be met from renewable sources. Power for all its sites, from its 3,000 small food shops, funeral parlours and pharmacies to the headquarters in Manchester, will be supplied from windfarms and hydro stations operated by Scottish Power and Scottish and Southern Energy.
